On Parenting and Parenthood

Word of the moment: Child
Currently listening to: Sakura Saku - Hayashibara Megumi

Gym...or rather Weight Management Program isn't really part of my plan in my summer days. I don't really need to go lose some weight (they say I'm pretty much healthy) but I agreed as it would really take me some time off the computer and television all day. It also became worthwhile too, especially when I couldn't take my hands off those HealthToday magazines and their guide to help parents reach their hands out to their children.

As early as the first day of High School, I already had my eyes open towards my family life. Why so early? Well, for starters, I have a good, caring, and loving parents. I have two sisters (Faypot & Sulia [I still use her old alias]) who are now mothers. I also have 2 friends(Vael & Raz), one who complains about them and one who is strictly disciplined by them. I'm also adding the fact that I can't possibly have a brother anymore. I desired even from long time ago that I would have a brother and I altered that fact that I should have a son instead.

I still have fear even though I read and listened to a lot of articles about parenthood. I fear that I may spoil my children. I also fear I might push them too hard. I especially fear seeing myself abuse my children. I'm still not brave to face the consequences and I hope I may face these challenges, with the help of the significant other, of course. Still, I can't help the feeling but as the HealthToday magazine says, "There is no foolproof plan for a good family..." but there are lots of ways to make it happen.

Oh how I wish that I could become a good father, almost opposite to who I am now.

Fave GB Moments

Word of the moment: Gunbound
Currently listening to: Love a Riddle - Kotoko - Onegai Teacher

Ooh! I know! I know! I've got 4 favorite moments in Gunbound! Let me get my old text file...here we go!

Tag Match: Lightning/Trico - Miramo Town
- I was weakened. My Lightning already had a red life. Good thing my Trico isn't damaged. I killed off an enemy from a bunge. I attempted a suicide but I still lived (It was still surprising for me back then). Soon, I realized I was alone vs. 2 other mobiles. Good thing I was in a bunge and they were all back on top of the surface. I killed the first one (A.Sate) with Shot 1 and the second (Mage) with shot 2. That's the first time I learned about Lightning tricks.

Note: Lightning shots except SS all depend on the Lightning that comes from the sky. Shot 1 hits horizontally (1 Lightning Bolt) and Shot 2 hits diagonally (2 Lightning Bolts, would strike a V-shaped bolt on surface or X-shaped should it explode on air).

Score Match: Lightning - Nirvana Side B
- Nirvana is one of the most notorius maps and people disagree on fighting in it because of it's bizarre land pattern (Medium to small floating land masses that are scattered in mid air). Also, A.Sate, Aduka, and Lightning bring bad news to this map because they all depend on fighting on open air. Thankfully, I already know how to fight with Lightning back then. I nailed one of them using Shot 2's instead of killing the one above me. Why? Because he's open and the one who is near me isn't. Soon, I became a great asset to team victory as I smit enemies with my powerful lightning.

Tag Match: Turtle/??? - Dragon
- In this 2:2 match, I lost but there was a time that I loved this match. Like I said, I was using turtle. I was on one side of the map and my one of my enemies is on the other. Even though my teammate lost already, I still kept fighting the other enemy. Then, I thought, "Why not use the Special Skill of the Turtle?" And so I did. I expected that it won't really work as much as I had hoped it would. That's why I was caught in surprise when it did. Even though I lost, it still excited me.

Note: The Turtle's SS is a very tricky shot. At first, it will fire a large ball of water that damages enemies at a ridiculously low damage. Then, if it had not made impact yet, it will spread into numerous balls of water at a certain point of time. Each ball would also damage at a ridiculously low damage. However, if you were able to pull off the SS that would transform DIRECTLY in front of the enemy, you will even be able to get an Excellent Shot Bonus (500+ Damage, Direct Hit).

--------
Now here's something new which I pulled off just a while ago. ^_^

Score Match: RaonLauncher - Metropolis

It is said that the Mage can resist laser attacks. It is also said that RaonLauncher is probably the weakest Laser Mobile if it were to shoot directly. That's why Raon has Shot 2 to support itself. Raon's Shot 2 would send 2 Raon Robots or "Babies" as people would often call them. These robots, if a mobile (whether enemy, friendly or dead, most unfortunately) is nearby, would walk towards the target on the Raon user's next turn. These robots can also drain the Mage's Shield quickly. Unfortunately, when shooting these at a far range, they tend to be more separate than being close and would make them rather less effective than usual.

Fortunately for me, the Mage was just a walk away. We were literally face to face and a Raon on those encounters is the most dangerous. I was able to pull off numerous shots that would trap the mage between two raon babies or just two raon babies facing him. However, even if I had a powerful mobile in hand, I could still lose to the Mage. Then I realized something. The mage's teammate, a pro in gunbound, warned his teammate that a Raon close by was dangerous. After that, I told the mage a little prediction to the future. I told him Raons were great bungers (Mobiles that are able to dig the ground). And so I did bunge him using a (wasted) Dual and shot 1 and firing directly below him. I was laughing out loud when he started to curse me while falling down.

It wasn't over yet though. My teammate was damaged but she was able to damage the other as well but not as heavily. I supported her with my Shot 1 but managed to damage only a little. Also, there was the fact that the mage was also gonna go back into action. So I readied myself...and I used shot 2 to where he was landing. The poor boy couldn't hit me, let alone move because of the numerous (I used dual) raons I placed both behind and in front of him. He was able to support his teammate though by shooting at my teammate. Soon, my teammate was killed (by the pro and not the mage), the poor mage practically has no life left and was trapped in land that the Raons dug when they exploded, and the Pro had already red life. I changed my target and shot at the pro but the damage was insignificant. The mage still couldn't hit me due to his current position.

This all changed when the pro shot at me. It had dug the ground that was trapping the mage. It had also given me an increased chance to kill. Not to mention that my teammate got back after that shot. I killed the mage (again) using what traditional Raons would do: SS (This shot would send off a large Raon Baby and would walk to the direction it lands into. It will then explode if it hits a target [again, friendly, enemy, dead or another raon, most unfortunately]). After that, I skipped a turn and my teammate won over the pro. It was a fun victory. xDDDDDD

I've got an LJ! Hooray me!

I'm bored...

Word of the moment: Sleep
Currently listening to: Hikari - Utada Hikaru - Deep River

Yay! Sleep! Boo! Boredom!

I forgot to mention about my sleep and siestas back at the last post! I like siestas and sleep. Who doesn't? Well very few doesn't like to sleep although I'm not really quite sure about that note. I like sleep.

Too bad though since I'm almost always alone recently. Hardly anyone goes online to talk with...or at least I hardly see them online. Two nights ago was an exception. I got an MSN conference back then. It first started out with Rika, Ryopon, and me. Then Saku came and eventually, Vael. We introduced Vael to Ryopon and likewise. Missing from action are Raziel because of curfew and the fact that he doesn't have MSN Messenger, and Shinko...well at least I didn't get to see her go online. Not sure really.

I was gonna go for a joy-ride back in Gunbound but that conference stopped me and I'm glad it did too. I kinda had fun even though I didn't talk that much. Most of the time, I was dowloading a newer version of MSN Messenger. I ended up installing the same version. >.< Well it was worth a try anyway. I also talked to Zedd via YM and read his comments about some comments in the Animax Petition which I'll get to later. Also, I tried enhancing my skills in Adobe Photoshop. It's fun once you get used to it. The conference was full of messages however. Vael had the least post cuz he was busy being quiet all the time, not to mention was playing StarCraft (I miss that game. Stupid monitor/video card/whatever which made the screen dark). I had next but only because I was working on Adobe Photoshop. Soon, I had to go cuz it was about 12 MN. I wish I had more like those.

After the conference, I feel alone. Though there are one or so who are online at either YM or MSN, I never got to talk to them...much. Gunbound was getting boring too and Vael just keeps on NOT having RO Top-up Cards for me to Top-up and play RO with. *sob* Well at least I got to create a new Web Button for this blog! Fwee!! ^_^

Check it out:

It's simple but I like it all the same.

Meanwhile, about the Animax petition, its about a group of people inviting other people to sign a petition against Animax-Asia's dubbing of anime. Many prefer subbed anime instead of dubbed and there are a lot of reasons why. Some of their comments though are stupid. Rika signed, probably Raziel and Saku too.

Applegeeks' my new Web Comic target. The others could wait. I mean, I downloaded a new wallpaper and it rocks!! Check it at my DevArt Page. ^_^

Wow! Lots of links in today's post.

What's up with me?

Word of the moment: Sey? (an inverted yes)
Currently listening to: Obsession - See-Saw - .hack//sign

Oh nothing. After I just mailed my cousin back in the US, I though I might just ask myself what's up with me?

So let's see here. Well there's the occasional I'm a big fat lazy dude who's stuck up sitting in front of the computer all day long or lying in bed and watching TV all day long. Okaay, so maybe it's more of a frequently than an occasionally. Well I also go to a neighbor's house and play the Sims on his N-Gage. He doesn't mind though I'm trying to go there a bit less. Also, every Saturday, I'm supposed to go practice Tennis with my dad. He says I'm getting pretty good. I think not though.

If you wanna go deeper into my computer stuff, well for starters, I haven't even touched Ragnarok Online characters recently. I'm all hooked up with Gunbound especially when I don't have RO load to level up silverRAVEN. Well at least I got a new avatar in Gunbound. Oh I just love this Archangel avatar I have. It costs for 200k gold and I managed to earn it. Imagine how many times I have to lose win...ok...lose in that game. I'm just dissapointed that the Buddy list was broken...stupid buddy list.

Going outside the Gunbound world, is the world of Utopia. I am probably a weak province in that game especially when you count the number of war losses I have in that game. Surprisingly though, only a few invaded me, not like the last time I played the game. Hmm. Luck must be on my side.

Of course that doesn't mean I neglect RO. Even though Emperium.org died, I'm still up to look for any recent kRO news though it's gonna give me a hard time. Babelfish is just plain crappy when it comes to Eastern Languages to English translations. Also, Calx Zinra e-mailed me just a while ago. Apparently, she was asking permission if she could copy the Champion's skills and description from my guide and I gave it to her. Speaking of my guide, I uploaded it so that I don't have to change it when Luoyang comes to iRO (even if I don't play iRO). And then there's a bunch of this and that. Nothing really.

Aside from the game world, I was able to download 2 new mp3s coming from .hack//Sign. I got "Magic and Sword," an instrumental, and also "Obsession." I think I have a different version of Obsession, not the one I was aiming for. Oh well. At least I have 2 more. ^_^

Well, that's that for the computer I suppose. Now I just wish I had enough money to buy me .hack//Sign OST 1...if I could find it too. It's the top of my wishlist now.

No blockquotes today...Oh...Right.
